After the tour of Cat Lai Port, the Thanh Hoa delegation held a working session with the leadership of Saigon Newport and Ashico. At the session, Saigon Newport’s leadership expressed their hope that the Thanh Hoa leadership would create favourable conditions for the corporation and Ashico to invest in strong seaport development projects and to fully tap existing advantages to build logistics service centres — helping Thanh Hoa’s economy reach further in the future.
As for Asia Asset Investment and Management Joint Stock Company (Ashico), under the Memorandum of Understanding on investment in the North Central Logistics Centre and Industrial Zone Infrastructure project — covering approximately 395 hectares with total investment of around VND 6,000 billion in the Nghi Son Economic Zone (NSEZ) — signed with the Thanh Hoa People’s Committee on 19 February 2021, General Director Nguyễn Sơn reaffirmed the commitment to prioritise and concentrate financial resources to deploy the project with advanced, environmentally friendly technology and equipment, while strictly complying with regulations on investment, planning, environment, labour safety, security, and other applicable laws — contributing to building Thanh Hoa into a growth pole of the Hanoi – Haiphong – Quang Ninh – Thanh Hoa economic quadrangle.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr Đỗ Trọng Hưng sent deep thanks to the leadership of Saigon Newport Corporation and Ashico for the warm welcome. He emphasised: “This visit to Saigon Newport Corporation provides a basis for the key provincial leaders to learn more about business models and exchange experiences on the implementation, management, operation, and exploitation of port projects, logistics services, and marine economic industries of Saigon Newport — a military enterprise model that simultaneously implements economic development tasks linked with national defence and security”.
At the close of the working session, the leadership of Saigon Newport presented souvenirs to the Thanh Hoa delegation with the hope that the seaport development and logistics service projects will succeed and contribute to the province’s economic development.
